Summer Games is the largest annual Special Olympics Texas state competition. Athletes train for 12 weeks in their sport, and compete at local and area levels prior to state. 2014 was a hallmark year: the 45th anniversary Games, featuring more than 3,000 athletes competing in track & field, basketball, cycling, gymnastics, soccer and tennis. The logo is inspired by the athletes and the flame symbolizing the Games. The branding serves many purposes: fundraising via donations and sponsorships, coach and volunteer informational material, promotional marketing, and souvenir merchandise sold at Games.
